Need Something To Do Saturday?

Posted By on Sat, Jul 16, 2011 at 7:00 AM

Movies under the stars seem to have replaced the drive-ins of yesteryear. It's getting increasingly difficult to find a spot where you can enjoy each other's company—and a movie—outdoors and in the privacy of your car. Now, lawn chairs have replaced back seats and there are movies in park-like settings in abundance all summer long for myriad audiences, from kid-friendly blockbusters complete with vendors selling snow cones to romantic classics shown in sweet spots like vineyards.

Sawtooth WInery is the site of one such screening tonight. Take your chairs and blankets, scout out a spot on the lawn and grab a bite to eat from B29 Streatery before Casablanca starts. Wine tasting is a given and is included in the $10 admission price. Emulate Bogart and Bergman and your dapper duds will put you in the running to win a 3-liter bottle of wine.

Wine tasting begins at 7:30 p.m. tonight, and the movie starts at sundown. Visit the Nampa Civic Center's web site to purchase tickets online. Children 12 and younger get in FREE.
