Teach Your Children a Trade: Origami

Posted By on Sun, Jul 24, 2011 at 7:00 AM

Here on Cobweb, we like to pull an interesting, yet underplayed event out of the depths of the calendar and write about it as the thing to do that day. There's only one problem: Sometimes, that thing happens in the morning and you won't have time to read about it and then make it there.

With that in mind, if you're looking for somewhere to dump the kids something to do with the kids tomorrow, the Ada Community Library is offering a free workshop on origami, the Japanese art of paper-folding.

It's a great way for kids age 8 and older to pick up the sort of odd hobby that they can use to win influence in the election for third-grade class president and to kill time while Mommy and Daddy have a little coffee and wait for their headaches to go away.

The workshop starts at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 25, and is free.
