Need Something To Do Tuesday?

Posted By on Tue, Aug 2, 2011 at 9:00 AM

Maybe you've noticed that we here at Boise Weekly are all a'Twitter. Maybe you've friended us on Facebook. If you haven't at least "liked" our page yet, get on it, please. We here at BWHQ have hopped on the social-media bandwagon, delivering our online content to you digitally. This isn't part of some fad. It's simply a part of 21st century life.

Social media is changing the way just about everybody is doing business—or at least enhancing the way organizations get their info out there. Perhaps one of the most drastic changes to come about is in traditional newsrooms. No longer do we have to wait for the 6 o'clock news to catch up on what's going on in the world. Instead, news is now delivered right to our computers or phones any time, any place.

Page One: Inside The New York Times is a documentary about how the Times is adjusting their daily operations to stay current. The film is playing at The Flicks tonight, and BW staffers are going to check it out en masse. We would like you to join us.

Come early, hang out with us in the lobby, and then we will all go in to the theater for a glimpse into a year in the life of one of the world's premier newspapers. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $7 if you say you're with us.
