Funding for Idaho Filmmakers

Posted By on Wed, Aug 10, 2011 at 2:57 PM

The Idaho Film Office wants to do what it can to help filmmakers who choose to remain local, employing Idaho's natural beauty and talented people to create movies. The IFO has done that by implementing a film grant program, the purpose of which is to "advance the filmmaking workforce in Idaho through hands-on production experience on an eligible project."

In only the second year that IFO has offered these grants, three judges looked at 21 applications that included treatments, scripts, budgets and, in some cases, works in progress. On Aug. 9, the IFO announced that it had awarded $5,000 each to the following individuals/organizations for the 2011-2012 film grant program: David Butterfield, Andrew Ellis, KNIFVES (Kootenai and North Idaho Film Video Entertainment Society) Lara Media, Seth Randal and Zach Voss.
