Idaho native Josh Ritter will read from his debut novel, Bright's Passage, on Friday, Aug. 12, at 8 p.m. at the Record Exchange.

The only way to attend the reading is to get a wristband.

The only way to get a wristband is to purchase some Josh Ritter merch.

There are, however, two places where you can purchase some merch and get one of these highly desired wristbands.

Along with the Record Exchange, Rediscovered Bookshop at 180 N. Eighth St. also has wristbands available. Purchase a JR bundle that includes a copy of Bright's Passage and a Bright's Passage American Apparel T-shirt, and you get two wristbands. Purchase just the book, just the T-shirt or a copy of one of Ritter's six studio LPs and you will receive one wristband.

The Record Exchange will close at 7 p.m. to get ready for Ritter's reading, but Rediscovered will stay open until 8 p.m., so even you wait-until-the-very-last-minute types might still be able to score.
