Need Something To Do Friday?

Posted By on Fri, Aug 12, 2011 at 7:00 AM

Anybody who is familiar with downtown Boise knows that when the road barricades come out on Grove Street between Sixth Street and Capitol Boulevard, there’s a party in the works.

Notorious for good food, good wine and good fun, the fine folks who run the businesses on the Basque Block are at it again—this time in the name of philanthropy. All proceeds from this party will benefit the Basque Museum and Cultural Center.

The 14th Annual Wine Festival will feature vendors pouring wine from around the region and around the world—particularly the Basque Country. The Basque Market, Bardenay, Bar Gernika and Leku Ona will be serving specialty tapas, and the Oinkari Dancers will perform traditional Basque dances.

Be prepared to start sippin’ at around 5:30 p.m. Your $30 admission ticket includes a glass and all of the tastes of wine you can handle. You’ll also get two tickets good for either a tapas or a full glass of wine of your choosing—you can always purchase more tapas to keep your food intake on an even keel with your wine intake.

Get your ticket in advance and you’ll save $3.
