Need Something To Do Wednesday?

The world loves a kook. Not a drooling weirdo babbling about an impending alien invasion but a proper oddball whose shenanigans are always good for a chuckle.

And there is arguably no greater kook than Ozzy Osbourne. Born a poor miscreant whose greatest goal in life was "to have an indoor shitter," he was in jail by the age of 18 and world-famous not so long afterwards.

It's an old cliche that people often "fail upward." For anyone who read his hysterical memoir, I Am Ozzy, it's clear Osbourne didn't so much fail up as stumble up. And whether it was starting a band with his childhood enemy, tattooing the word "thanks" across his palm to make communication more efficient, biting the head off a live dove or accidentally ending up with a hit reality TV show, he has remained charmingly bizarre throughout foibles that would have killed most people many times over.

Tonight, you can get an extra dose of his kookery on the big screen with the special limited run of a documentary about his life, God Bless Ozzy Osbourne.

The film, made by his Osbourne's son Jack, premiered this year at the Tribeca Film Festival and is now receiving a very limited theatrical run.

And as Osbourne puts it,"Make sure you go see my fucking movie."

The screening is today at Edwards Boise Stadium 22. It starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $12.20.

And no matter how funny you think it may be, don't take any live doves to the theater.
