Chipotle Mexican Grill, the formerly-owned-by-McDonald’s chain, fast-food burrito restaurant, is opening its first Idaho location on Friday, Sept. 16, at Boise Towne Square Mall. But if the phrase “formerly-owned-by-McDonald’s chain, fast-food burrito restaurant” makes you wince, check this out: Chipotle prides itself on serving “food with integrity.”

Chipotle sources naturally raised, antibiotic-free meat—it’s currently the largest restaurant seller of naturally raised meat and will serve more than 100 million pounds of it in 2011. Chipotle also refuses to serve dairy products from cows treated with the synthetic hormone rBGH, and the restaurant partners with local farmers to serve local and organically grown produce—10 million pounds in 2011.

If you want to support a 1,100-restaurant chain that proudly puts its ethics on the front burner, stop by the Boise Towne Square mall tomorrow after 3 p.m. The first 100 customers to buy a burrito, order of tacos, burrito bowl or salad in person after 3 p.m. on opening day will receive a Free Burrito card and a Chipotle T-shirt.
