Need Something To Do Saturday?

Posted By on Sat, Oct 1, 2011 at 7:00 AM

Today is Caturday. What better day to help local cats find forever families?

You don't have to be a crazy cat lady to reach out to the countless stray cats and kittens out there or to help find homes for the felines whose owners had to give them up. To help as many of these cats as possible, consider supporting Simply Cats.

The local no-kill, cageless shelter with a feline focus provides a comfortable environment and veterinary care to their residents, including spaying and neutering whenever possible. Simply Cats also runs a cat-food bank to help families in need feed their cats.

To keep up the good work, Simply Cats is holding Paws, Pints & Vines, a fund-raising event to keep the kitties in kibble and help folks take them home.

Paws, Pints & Vines features Oktoberfest-style food, local craft beer and wine, a live band and, of course, the chance to help cats find families to love. Sponsors include Indian Creek Winery, Vale Winery and Highlands Hollow Brewhouse. Animal lovers and anyone crazy for kitties, this is your chance: head to Simply Cats for a purr-fect opportunity to support the shelter.

Paws, Pints & Vines takes place from 4:30-7 p.m. in the Memorial Garden at Simply Cats Adoption Center. Because beer and wine are being served, it is a 21-and-older event and ID is required to attend. Registration is $15 per person at the door. Each registration includes one food ticket and three beverage tickets, and additional food and beverages will be available for purchase. All proceeds benefit Simply Cats.
