Free Pink-Ribbon Tattoos This Saturday at Inkvision

Posted By on Fri, Oct 21, 2011 at 3:04 PM

If you saw a girly pink ribbon tattooed on a burly dude, you might be tempted to snicker. But keep in mind, the pink ribbon stands for breast cancer awareness, and whether it's pinned to a lapel or tattooed on a neck, the person sporting it may be survivor, or a friend/family member to someone affected by breast cancer.

As National Breast Cancer Awareness Month celebrates it's 25th year, local artists at Inkvision Tattoo are doing their part to further education and awareness. For the second year in row, Kendall Vader, Mike Wiensz, Travis Berg and Erik Payne are donating their time and materials on Saturday, Oct. 22, by providing free pink-ribbon tattoos for breast cancer survivors and their family and friends.

"We hope to fill our parking lot with as many people as possible on Saturday,” said Vader.

The pink tattoos are first-come, first-serve this Saturday at Inkvision, located at 516 Americana Blvd. Though the tattoos are free, a donation to the Susan G. Komen Foundation is highly encouraged, and donations can be made on-site.
