Fiction 101 From the Judges' Perspectives

So, what's it take to win the annual Boise Weekly Fiction 101 Contest? Nothing short of beautifully crafted, intelligent and intriguing fictional stories told in just 101 words.

Whie the results from 10th annual Fiction 101 Contest won't be published until the Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, edition, check out the video below to learn what the five judges of this year's contest were looking for amid the more than 100 entries.

You're also invited to join us to celebrate the achievement of the winners of this year's contest at a special reception and reading on First Thursday, Jan. 5, at Rediscovered Bookshop, where the finalists will be reading their prize-winning stories and taking questions from the audience. The reading starts at 7 p.m., so get there early to get a seat.
