Need Something To Do Thursday?

Walking in a straight line is a useful skill—that way, you avoid bumping into people and inanimate objects, and can prove your sobriety when driving a car. Johnny Cash even touted the skill in a song, which then became the name of a 2005 bio pic about the singer.

So, yes, walking and lines go together well. But wouldn't it be more fun to dance in a line? Sure, the objective of line dancing isn't to remain completely linear—there are all kinds of twirls and fancy moves—but that's why it's infinitely more exciting than a boring old walk.

You can learn to line dance today at the Broadway Dance Center. You can take part in the lesson no matter what your age or skill level is. Bring $5 and you're sure to leave with some killer country dance moves, not to mention a newfound appreciation of lines.
