Sun Valley a Candidate for Official Olympic Nordic Training Site

In today's issue of Boise Weekly, writer Lisa H. Eller checks in with several of Idaho's top winter athletes to talk Russia 2014.

While the Sun Valley athletes are training with the slogan "Six to Sochi"—meaning their goal is to send six Wood River Valley athletes to the Olympics in Sochi, Russia—the resort itself is hoping to be named an official Olympic Nordic training site.

The Idaho Mountain Express reported Tuesday on the potential economic impact the designation could have on the valley. From the story:

The site visit is the final step in gaining certification as a training site, but Sustain Blaine board members pointed out during a meeting Monday that one more step must be taken: ensuring the community is clear on how designation will help the valley.
