Curtis Stigers' Get Louder For Powder Snow Dance Works

Posted By on Thu, Jan 19, 2012 at 11:56 AM

Turns out just the rumor of Curtis Stigers' Get Louder For Powder event was all the weather needed. In response, a bunch of clouds kicked it over to Idaho and dumped heavy amounts of snow—up to an inch an hour through the afternoon of Jan. 18. Bogus Basin officially opened this morning at 10 a.m.

The Get Louder for Powder event kicked off as planned, and despite the snow turning into a light drizzle, spirits remained high. Partly, it was the uber-cheap Bogus burgers shilled for a buck a piece (1,200 in all); partly, it was the copious amounts of beer (also $1); but most of all, spirits were high because the patrons knew that rainfall was turning into more pure snow up on the slopes.

Decked in their ski gear and wading through the wet street of the Basque Block, hundreds snapped up free swag, sipped beer and warmed themselves by the propane heaters perched near umbrella-like pop-up canopies.

DJ Brad Rowen handled the block party until Curtis Stigers took the stage inside the Basque Center, alongside acts like Rebecca Scott and Bill Coffey. You can check out a video of the event below.
