Need Something To Do Thursday?

Posted By on Thu, Jan 19, 2012 at 6:00 AM

Ever sit in your cubicle and stare at your computer screen dreaming of all the awesome things you could be doing—like taking a trip in a helium balloon-powered lawn chair, writing a Lion Taming for Dummies book, setting a new land speed record on your riding lawnmower or fusing every national anthem into one super-long multi-cultural ballad?

Well, if starting a nonprofit is on your daydream list, you're in luck. The Boise Public Library and the Idaho Nonprofit Center are hosting Nonprofit Resource Thursdays every month.

The latest installment takes place today from 4-6 p.m. on the third floor of the library's main branch on Capitol Boulevard. Existing nonprofits and start-ups can get help finding valuable resources, including assistance with searching a database of more than 150,000 grant opportunities. In addition, a roundtable of nonprofit workers will discuss a different topic each month.

The sessions are free, so if you've been dreaming of starting your own nonprofit, already run one or have a favorite that you'd like to help out by gaining more knowledge, head down to the library tonight.
