The Romney Campaign Playlist

Posted By on Sun, Feb 19, 2012 at 3:07 PM

Presidential candidates have a long history of getting slapped with cease and desist letters for their music choices at rallies. That's why it's not terribly surprising that when Boise Weekly started tweeting out songs played at Mitt Romney's Boise appearance on Feb. 17, we got this in response.

BW wasn't able to snag a look at the playlist, but we wrote down every song we could, and a number of them are suspect, based either on the lyrical content or political leanings of the musicians.

Songs included:

-"Sweet Caroline" by Neil Diamond
-"America" by Neil Diamond
-"Beautiful Day" by U2
-"Where the Streets Have No Name" by U2
-"Right Now" by Van Halen
-"Small Town" by John Cougar Mellencamp
-"Pink Houses" by John Cougar Mellencamp
-"A Little Less Conversation" Elvis Vs. JXL
-"Life is a Highway" by Tom Cochrane
