Need Something To Do Thursday?

Posted By on Thu, Mar 1, 2012 at 6:00 AM

Attention all people residing beneath rocks: There is going to be a big ol' music festival in Boise from Thursday, March 22-Sunday, March 25. It's called Treefort Music Fest, and a lot of cool local and out-of-town bands will be playing a ton of music all over the city.

You can begin your Treefort fun tonight at the progressive Treefort Warm-up Party, which kicks off at the Record Exchange at 6 p.m. Portland, Ore.'s Radiation City will give an in-store performance, Payette Brewing Company will dole out free beer to those old enough with ID, and the neat-o folks at the RX will give out music from bands playing in the fest later this month.

Can't make it at 6 p.m.? The party will keep going at Visual Arts Collective at 8 p.m. Pick up a four-day pass prior to 2 p.m. or at the first Record Exchange warm-up party and you'll be put on a guest list for the party at VAC. And really, who doesn't love being on a guest list? If you've already purchased your pass, show up at VAC with proof of your purchase so you can get in for FREE.

Don't have a pass? Well, the VAC throwdown will cost you $5. But you may be the lucky person to win a four-day pass at the party. Pass holders can win a VIP upgrade or a Kindle Fire, and the sounds of Radiation City will fill the Garden City venue, along with the stylings of local acts Atomic Mama and Shades.

So go start your Treefort frenzy, enjoy some tunes and get amped up for the upcoming festival.
