Dead Nate Dogg Doesn't Show to Coachella, Dead Tupac Does

Posted By on Mon, Apr 16, 2012 at 11:31 AM

Last week, BW told you about a report in TMZ that Nate Dogg would be performing with Dr. Dre at Coachella. But as it turns out—surprise, surprise—TMZ was wrong. Dr. Dre performed with a hologram April 15, but it wasn't Nate Dogg. It was Tupac Shakur, who in addition to having been dead much longer, is arguably more deserving of technological resurrection.

To paraphrase Airplane: "I picked the wrong week to start reading Neuromancer by William Gibson."

Check out a video of the performance below. For more on how the effect was achieved, check out this article in Denver, Colo.'s alt-weekly, Westword.
