Need Something To Do Tuesday?

Teachers use chalk to convey ideas to classrooms of students, athletes use it on their hands and many a billiard ball has been sunk in with a chalked-up cue. Today, a slew of students and members of youth organizations will celebrate chalk and put their skills to the test during the Chalk HeART Challenge.

Today from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Boise Art Museum, kids will create works of art live. Participants are asked to select a poem from the Love What's Real middle- or high-school book, and then create chalk drawings depicting healthy teen relationships. Spectators will then dole out three tokens to their favorites, thereby voting for them to win the HeART of Fame Award—$500 for the group's art class.

The event is presented by BAM and the Idaho Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence. Drawings will be done on chalkboards and cement. Visit BAM's website for more info.
