Boise to Get Less Funny, Hawaii to Get Funnier

Posted By on Wed, Jun 6, 2012 at 3:07 PM

In the last two years, Boise has experienced a renaissance in stand-up comedy. A major player in that scene was local stand-up Aaron Sheehan, whose snappy one-liners, excellent crowd work and truly creepy mustache could help audiences recover from even the most painful first-timers at an open mic.

But after tonight [Wednesday, June 6], Boise is going to have to get by without him. Sheehan is moving to the big island of Hawaii for a job. His final performance will be tonight at Liquid Laughs, where comedians and fans alike are throwing him a big send-off party.

Before he leaves town, BW did a quick Q&A and Mad Lib with Sheehan:

Will you be pursuing comedy in Hawaii?

They have a few clubs, but from what I've heard, it's a hard scene for an outsider.

What will you miss?

I feel like Boise has a great team of new comedians and they are a lot of help, especially in the writing department. I will miss the people themselves. I feel like we have an amazing group here.

Mad Lib: Without me, Boise's comedy scene will be ADJECTIVE and ADJECTIVE. It might even need a ADJECTIVE NOUN.

Without me, Boise's comedy scene will be freckled and pink. It might even need a handlebar mustache.

The show starts at 8 p.m. at Liquid Laughs and is FREE.

After that, you can follow his hijinx on Twitter.
