Joss Whedon Doesn't Really Want You to Boycott Sleepwalk With Me

Comedian and This American Life-frequenter Mike Birbiglia is about to drop his first film, Sleepwalk With Me, based off his one-man show of the same name. And the critics have loved it so much that it's making Joss Whedon—creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly, Angel, Dollhouse and director of The Avengers—nervous that it might keep you from going to see his film for the 800th time.

In fact, he's calling for a boycott. Though something about his tone makes it seem like he might not be entirely serious about it. Perhaps it's the part where he insists you should call local theaters and request they show the film just so you can boycott it?

Boiseans would be wasting their time with the call though. Sleepwalk with Me is set to open at The Flicks on Friday, Sept. 7. The trailer can be seen here.
