Boise Band Mozam to Go on Hiatus for Charity

Posted By on Sat, Aug 25, 2012 at 3:00 PM

Boise band Mozam has been making the kids all nutso-like on the dance floor with its combination of jungle noises and old-school hip-hop beats.

But all good things must eventually take a little time for themselves.

After the band's DJ set today at the Homegrown Theater Backyard Bash, its members will be exploring the territory around Splitsville for a bit as lead Mozamer Trevor Kamplain will be putting music on the back burner to explore international volunteer opportunities.

Where? What? Kamplain isn't exactly sure yet, just that he wants to give helping people a shot. Volunteering for an AIDS organization in Africa is one idea he's considering.

"I'm the sort of person that has to get out there and see for myself," he said.

Kamplain wants to try the volunteer life out for a few months and then reassess if music or do-goodery is the life for him.

Co-Mozamer Chris Smith will be staying in Boise, busy with his other band First Borns.
