Need Something To Do Sunday?

If the bony-fingered Grim Reaper were to whisper, it would probably result in a chilling, make-you-curl-up-in-the-fetal-position sound. Which is a far cry from the rock-country sounds of Woodriver Valley's Old Death Whisper, which will play today at Redfish Lake Lodge near Stanley.

The band will provide attendees basking in the serene setting with tunes that it creatively describes as "a cocktail of dirty Western-style roots music and country-tinged parlor tunes that spikes straight, dirty rebellion into the veins of American music with the dust of the Idaho back roads."

Curious just what the heck that sounds like? Get a preview at Old Death Whisper's Facebook page.

Today's performance will conclude the 2012 season of Music From Stanley, which brings different artists to the mountain town on a weekly basis from June through September, and has a dual identity as a radio show, which airs on KBSU, KBSW and KISU in the fall, and is hosted by local music man Dan Costello.

Concerts, including today's, are FREE and take place from 4-7 p.m. Click here for more on the series.
