The amount of love you have for Kristen Wiig should determine your desire to see Imogene, Wiig's latest big-screen comedy that debuted this week at the Toronto International Film Festival.

If you're absolutely crazy about Wiig and admire her comic talents, you should definitely watch Imogene on the big screen. Eveyone else can be given a free pass and wait for the rental. After setting the bar so high in 2011's Bridesmaids, Wiig's newest effort is instantly forgettable.

Wigg plays the title character, a Jersey girl who insists she has a New York state of mind. Unfortunately, her social climbing in Manhattan remains stuck on the bottom-most rung. Imogene is a wannabe playwright who has recently lost her boyfriend and job. But being the drama queen that she is, Imogene fakes a suicide attempt, hoping it will garner attention. Instead, she's committed to a hospital and is conditionally released to her mother (Annette Bening), who is a sex-starved gambling addict.

A series of quirky characters are introduced, but most are uninteresting. That is, with one exception: Matt Dillon is hilarious as George Boosh (yes, that's his name), who insists that he's a time-traveling undercover spy. He's the best thing in the movie.
