Black Friday Boozing Part 2: The Basque Market Port Tasting

Posted By on Thu, Nov 22, 2012 at 8:00 AM

The Basque Market serves port following Thanksgiving.

After the belly-stuffing holiday that is Thanksgiving, the Basque Market wants to help you wash down all that turkey.

On Friday, Nov. 23—the famed Black Friday—the Basque Block mainstay is offering a selection of black ports. From 10 a.m.-6 p.m., take advantage of a free port tasting, as well as port-inspired tapas available for purchase.

The Basque Market's wine rep will pour a selection of ports from historic port house Quinta do Noval, makers of Noval Black. The sweet, high-alcohol wine comes exclusively from the Douro Valley in Portugal.

Then, from 6-7 p.m., the market offers a private tasting with a glass of bubbly, followed by three Noval Black ports, according to its website. Admission is $15 in advance, $20 day-of.
