Need Something To Do Thursday?

The Teddy bear was named after the 26th president of the United States: rough-riding, national park-founding Theodore Roosevelt. In spite of his sometimes rough-hewn ways, Roosevelt distinguished himself as an observer and critic of the arts, a historian and a patron of America's natural spaces.

Since then, the Teddy bear has lost some of the luster of its namesake, and there's no better proof of this than the 2012 film Ted, starring Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis and Seth MacFarlane. The film will play at the Boise State Special Events Center at 7 p.m.

Wishing on a falling star as a child that his Teddy bear would come to life, John (Wahlberg) gets his wish—which turns out to be more than he bargained for. Twenty-seven years later, John struggles to balance his hedonistic life with the crass Ted, and his romantic interests with Lori (Kunis).

In spite of the bawdy humor, Ted wrestles with the problems of accepting personal and professional responsibility. And it's a cheap date: Admission is $1.
