The snow has been dumping up in McCall, and nearby resorts Tamarack and Brundage have been cornering the central Idaho ski market with their fresh powder, chairlifts and cozy amenities.

But there's one little ski hill in the McCall area that predates the others and happens to have an X-Games qualifying event taking place today.

That's right: Little Ski Hill is hosting the USASA X-Games Rail Jam Qualifier, with registration at 2 p.m. and the contest starting at 4 p.m. The winners get a shot at the national X-Games in Aspen, Colo., and the watchers get to see some sick rail tricks performed by some of the best riders around.

There's a $10 entry fee for the contest, but watching is FREE. For more info, call 208-634-5691.
