A Peek Inside Fork's New Italian Joint, Alavita

The new Italian concept from Fork owner Cameron Lumsden, Alavita, officially opened Jan. 21 at 807 W. Idaho St.

The eclectic pasta house boasts a central, horseshoe-shaped bar featuring an array of barrel-aged cocktails, a smattering of bar tables bordering garage-style windows, and tiny bar booths with chandeliers dangling above. The small-ish main dining room features a hodgepodge of patterns and an elaborate wood ceiling installation.

Alavita's menu offers a selection of antipasto like grilled broccolini with a crispy poached egg, and burrata with basil sea salt and apricot mostarda. Made-in-house pasta options include tortellini with kabocha squash and pumpkin seed pesto, and rotolo with local wild mushrooms and house ricotta.

Alavita is currently open for lunch Monday-Saturday, 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m.; and dinner Monday-Thursday, 5-10 p.m., and Friday-Saturday, 5-11 p.m.
