Need Something To Do Sunday?

In high school during poetry classes, the poems printed in aging textbooks were intimidating and occasionally gag-worthy with all that high-and-mighty language and soaring rhymes that did nothing but bind your brain in a boring little rut.

But poetry doesn't have to be that way. Read aloud, it has the timbre of a human voice instead of the post-consumer waste product books are printed on nowadays, and when you're listening instead of reading, it can make a whole lot more sense.

The folks at the Boise Depot invite you to join them for poetry reading in a gallery setting, as well as tours of the historic depot. The reading and tours are free and take place at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., so get off your butt, clean out your ears and give poetry a second chance.
