There's no such thing as a free lunch. But you can score free pancakes on National Pancake Day, Tuesday, Feb. 5.

Pancake purveyors IHOP give away free pancakes to visitors at each of its 1,500-plus locations every year. In return, IHOP asks diners to consider donating to the Children's Miracle Network.

Each person who walks in the door Tuesday will receive a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes. Regular menu items are also available for the pancake averse, or those looking to fill out their meal.

According to the company, IHOP has raised more than $10 million since launching the program in 2006.

IHOP outlets in Boise are located at 8959 W. Emerald St. and 3599 Federal Way, and in Meridian at 3525 E. Fairview Ave., all of which are open 24 hours.
