For many, the question of gun control is a debate. For some, it's a fight.

Boiseans who are interested in the debate might like to attend the Symposium on Regulation of Assault Weapons and Large Magazines going down at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, located at 6200 Garrett St. in Garden City, at 2 p.m.

The symposium will cover the pros and cons of enacting statutes regulating assault weapons. Panelists include moderator and Boise State University professor emeritus Jim Weatherby, Ritchie Eppink of the ACLU, Episcopal Bishop John Thornton, Vaughn Killeen of the Idaho Sheriff's Association and others.

The event is free and open to the public.
