A new series called Modern Masters debuted last year by paying homage to Boise architect Charles Hummel.

Idaho Modern, a committee of Preservation Idaho, announced that the series is back and will recognize Ernest J. Lombard with a lecture Friday, March 8, at the Idaho Transportation Department, located at 3311 State St.

Architectural historian Dan Everhart will host the event, which kicks off at 7 p.m. Coffee and dessert will follow, along with a silent auction. Tickets cost $20 for Preservation Idaho members and $25 for nonmembers.

Lombard is a fellow of the American Institute of Architects, and worked with midcentury architect Nat Adams before co-founding Lombard-Conrad Architects.

"Mr. Lombard’s championing led to preservation and public use of a multi-award-winning 1880s ghost town: Bayhorse, Idaho. He has served on Idaho’s Architectural Licensing Board; the University of Idaho’s advisory board; the AIA Idaho Chapter on the board and committees; and the NCARB exam committee," according to a press release from Idaho Modern.
