Creating a funding stream to help the Boise Art Museum present three new exhibitions over the next three years, BAM announced Tuesday afternoon that it was the recipient of a $150,000 grant from the Laura Moore Cunningham Foundation.

"This grant will ensure that people in our community have acces to high caliber works of art that would not otherwise be available to them in Idaho," said BAM Executive Director Melanie Fales.

Two of the exhibits earmarked through the funding are:

The World Stage, running June 11 through Oct. 27, will showcase portraits of people from differing religious backgrounds in Israel by artist Kehinde Wiley.

Folding Paper: The Infinite Possibilities of Origami, running Oct. 24, 2015, through Jan. 17, 2016, will showcase origami from the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles and the International Arts and Artists in Washington, D.C.

The third exhibit has yet to be announced.
