Boise has put no small amount of effort into promoting bicycle use. Compared to motorized transportation, bicycles are clean, user friendly and inexpensive, but that doesn't mean we should lose our appreciation for fine automobiles.

Today starting at 8 a.m. is the El Korah Shrine's Baron's Car Show. It's a chance to see hot rods, jalopies and humdingers up close, and get some breakfast while you're at it.

If you're looking to participate, registration begins at 9 a.m. at 1118 W. Idaho St., and the awards ceremony—yes, your car will be judged—begins at 1 p.m. A $5 donation gets your picture taken in Dale Harsin's Funny Car.
