Did you know that Warm Springs Avenue used to be farmland and a thoroughfare for stone harvested from the Foothills? So how did this treelined avenue become one of Boise's most majestic neighborhoods? And which millionaires built mansions there?

Beginning today at 7 p.m. at the Idaho Botanical Garden, Barbara Perry Bauer will cover these and other Warm Springs-related topics with a talk titled Exploring Warm Springs Avenue ... Its History and Architecture. She'll cover the area's early farms and mansions, the discovery of geothermal heat in the 1890s and the present era. Admission is $3-$5.
