Another Boise writer is getting some much deserved national attention. This time it's Boise Poet Laureate Diane Raptosh, who was just named to the National Book Foundation's long list for the National Book Awards in the poetry category.

Raptosh, for her book American Amnesiac, is one of 10 authors to make the list—nine who are making their first appearance on the list. Finalists for the award will be announced Wednesday, Oct. 16.

Raptosh, who teaches creative writing and literature at College of Idaho, is no stranger to accolades—even if they aren't at the same level as the National Book Awards. She won an honorable mention in this year's Boise Weekly Fiction 101 contest, too.
