Pudgy, short-ish men in your 30s take heart: You are the new normal.

At least according to graphic artist Nickolay Lamm's Body Measurement Project, you are.

As reported in the Atlantic Monthly, the typical American male 30-39 years of age has a body mass index of 29 (one point away from obesity), is 5-feet 9-inches tall and boasts a 39-inch waist.

Using a raft of international health data, Lamm (remember his "Barbie as a real woman" project?) built four variations of his average man (all named Todd): American Todd, Japanese Todd, Dutch Todd and French Todd.

American Todd didn't stack up too well against his fellow Todds. Not only is American Todd the heaviest, he's also shrinking. While U.S. males used to be the tallest in the world, they are now—on average—three inches shorter than Dutch men, who average 6-feet tall.

Meet Todd here.
