Need Something To Do Saturday?

Posted By on Fri, Jan 24, 2014 at 6:00 PM

Picture your or your child's school in the dreariness of winter. Now imagine that same school in rich colorful detail, with plants and flowers bringing life and energy to all who are within reach of their glow.

Learn the fundamentals of gardening and see how you can start a garden at your school at Just Add Water. Teachers, parents and school administrators are welcome to attend, and topics include garden planning, outdoor classroom management and school garden success stories. If that's not enough, Whole Foods Market will be on hand to provide up to five $500 grants to be used for starting or expanding gardens at Treasure Valley schools.

9 a.m. FREE. Library at Cole and Ustick, 7557 W. Ustick Road, Boise, 208-570-6900, boisepubliclibrary.org.
