Trey McIntyre Project: New Orleans Premiere

Posted By on Mon, Feb 7, 2011 at 9:25 PM

We had an amazing premiere here Friday night. Mahalia Jackson Theater was full (2300 seats) of folks as crazy as our home audience. The Preservation Hall Jazz Band started their overture set and about 2 minutes in, the fire alarms went off. Almost everyone stayed in their seats until it was (quickly) taken care of and it helped get people loosened up. Mark (trumpet and vocals) said "I though you were all getting up to dance." I can't imagine the show could have gone better.
We've been in residence in New Orleans all week, working with the band. This is an opportunity we don't get very often, so it was very special for everyone in the company.
We hope to see you in Boise when we open the same show, live with Preservation Hall...March 12th.

TMP - This Other Tour - Rapid City, South Dakota

Posted By on Thu, Apr 15, 2010 at 12:33 PM

Our hotel in Rapid City was right next to the Fierce Modeling Studio:

We got a very warm welcome here and it was especially fun working with the local extras in Wild Sweet Love.

They took us on a field trip to Mount Rushmore. We filmed part of Jason's Hillfolk Noir series next to some Mountain Goats. The goats were chill until Jason started dancing. SD goats are anti-dancing.

Downtown Rapid City is full of statues of the Presidents, just ripe for molestation.

So we drove to Sioux Falls and took a detour through The Badlands.

Brett wanted to go to this Indian Taco Shop he went to with his parents more than a decade ago. We drove about 3 hours out of the way to find it abandoned. We went in anyway and it was like The Hills Have Eyes.

You have never seen more cow crap at a cafe in your life.

We saw this...

And Jesus horse....

And went to Wall Drug and were almost in a bar fight.

TMP in Seattle

Posted By on Mon, Mar 22, 2010 at 11:47 AM

TMP had 3 fantastic shows in Seattle's Meany Hall. It was maybe our longest program ever, with Shape, Ten Pin Episodes, (serious), and Wild Sweet Love all in the same evening. The company tore it up. During the finale of show #2, one of Lauren's balloons from the night before came floating back to Earth into the middle of the stage. It was kind of sweet and got carried away in the winds of dancers running around the stage.
Here's a picture of the BSU airplane that brought us to Seattle.

Found on the Ground

Posted By on Mon, Mar 8, 2010 at 1:23 PM

We're rehearsing at the Milwaukee Ballet studios while in residency all week. The neighborhood is a little sketch. Found this flyer outside. Wish I was going to be here on Sunday. I wonder if D-Weezie is related to Dylan G-Bowley.
