Downtown commuters noticed major changes to 13th and 14th streets Wednesday morning: They had been converted from one-ways to two-way streets overnight.

Late Oct. 13, the Ada County Highway District installed new signage and painted on-road indicators on the streets so they would be available for use as early as 6 a.m. The conversion is part of the ongoing Downtown Boise Implementation Plan, which has already converted numerous former one-way streets downtown, including Third, Fourth, 11th and 12th streets.

The change comes just days after ACHD crews installed bright green bike boxes at intersections on Capitol Boulevard, which road users will remember from a short-lived bike lane pilot project that took place in summer 2014.
