5183 S. Silverlake Lane 

Lake Harbor is a development south of State Street just west of Collister Drive, located on a small lake. The development includes businesses, restaurants, apartments, single-family houses and townhouses. 5183 S. Silverlake Ln. is a duplex-style, single-level townhouse, painted tan and brown with stone accents. The siding is hardy plank, which has a 50-year warranty.

The large entryway is lit by three windows with transoms above it's beautifully floored in shiny light maple is decorated in white wainscoting, and faces a stairway to the second floor. Down the hall lays a beautiful kitchen featuring more wood floors, granite-tile countertops and breakfast bar, tile backsplashes, cherry-stained cabinets, a gas stove and stainless steel appliances. The refrigerator (and the stacked washer and dryer) is included in the sale. Behind the kitchen is an oversized walk-in pantry, and a utility room with a counter for folding laundry. This utility room leads to the two-car garage with automatic door opener.

The kitchen is open to the dining and living room, and the two rooms share a three-sided gas fireplace. The living room is lit by two windows and a glass door leading to the backyard. There is a ceiling fan and light. All the floors are covered in wall-to-wall carpeting. A hall from the dining room leads to an extra wide hallway, which features a built-in computer desk with shelves above. Behind the desk is an enormous under-stair closet with built-in shelves.

To the back of the house is the generously sized master bedroom with a big walk-in closet. A big window with a transom faces the backyard. An arched door leads to the bathroom with a garden tub overlooked by a window high on the wall. The bathroom has double sinks, tile floors and backsplashes. The cabinets are the same attractive cherry as in the kitchen. A pocket door leads to the shower and the toilet, and another window.

Next door is the second bedroom, which includes a small built-in desk and one window. The hall bathroom has a sink and shower combination. Across the main corridor leading to the kitchen is the third bedroom with another desk and a window facing the front of the house. The stairs in the entry lead up to a bonus room with a half bath and pedestal sink. There is a wet bar with room for a small refrigerator, another ceiling fan and light, and two windows and a door leading to a balcony. This overlooks the yard and to the west provides a good view of Lake Harbor Lake.

The door in the living room leads to a partially covered patio stubbed for gas. The entire yard is fenced, faces south and has automatic sprinklers. There is a side gate leading to the front of the property.

Pros: The balcony is wonderful and the finishes and appliances make the kitchen very elegant.

Cons: South Silverlake Lane faces a treed parking strip which separates the street from Lake Harbor parking. On the other hand, the house has a view of the Foothills from the small front porch. The backyard is overlooked by the exterior stairs of a neighboring apartment building but planting even one tree might take care of hiding that view.
