      According to a press release, Daisy's Madhouse sold out all seven performances of its Evil Dead The Musical production last year. The nonprofit theater company is bringing back the hilariously horrifying story of five people who journey to a remote cabin and end up turning into zombies. The return production promises not only more opportunities to see the show, but even more fake blood.

  • Improv Comedy Troupes Will Battle It Out Cage-Match Style

    Saturday, Sept. 8

      Local improv troupes will take to the stage at Fatty's on three consecutive Saturday nights, with the first Saturday, Sept. 8. And while the who-knows-what-they'll-say stuff of the improv will be in full force, expect more of a theoretical cage match than the violent physical duel in a literal cage seen in arenas and on TV.

      So you want to be a writer, eh? Well, you're in luck. Some big names in the literature world are headed to Boise Thursday, May 3-Saturday, May 5, and they're ready to teach you a thing or two. The Idaho Readers and Writers Rendezvous will bring literary authorities in a barrage of genres—screenwriting, poetry, songwriting, publishing, magazine writing, literary agents, you name it—together in a sort of writeapalooza.

  • Capital City Public Market Returns to Downtown Boise

      Well, it's that time of year again. The time when people-watching in the City of Trees is at its best, buying local is at its easiest, and Saturday mornings are a lot less dull.

      The Capital City Public Market will kick off Saturday, April 21, and the 2012 season will feature 140-160 farmers, artisans and local businesses that will line Eighth Street from Bannock Street to the Grove, and Idaho Street between Capitol Boulevard and Ninth Street.
