Not long ago, only trees dipped their branches into the Boise River where its current swept over a low-head dam downstream of Barber Park-to-Ann Morrison Park.
February food stamps were issued early during the partial government shutdown, creating a so-called "SNAP Gap" that has challenged food-insecure Idahoans to budget their allotments. Many have turned to food pantries for help.
