Re: “Dan Costello

No matter how you look at it, Chandlers could be in any urban setting, but we thankfully have it here in Downtown Boise. Classy, ornate, sophisticated and reliable - I know I will be "taken care of", from the crumbs on the table to the lipstick on the glass - they magically disappear between courses, and by the way, so does the flatware! The waitstaff has a penchant for performance and guest satisfaction.
The menu changes from season to season and I like the new things pop up from time to time, like the spanish style Rabbit that appeared for a couple of weeks, and then the lamb osso bucco that Chef prepared for a wine pairing dinner then tested out on the menu. They may come and go on the menu, but they are classics and true to my heart. The seafood menu is the most diverse and freshest in the valley - I will challenge any one on that! Obviously, it must all be flown in, but the resources are tried and true, and when it's not right, or fresh - it's 86'd! I do notice that the facebook page posts pictures of the fresh fish that arrives from time to time.
Rex has been in the business for over 40 years and it shows - he is still in it, still smiling and still demanding perfection on the plates and in the deliverance. With good reason, as guests have many choices today. The experience of fine dining is not a lost art, as witnessed when you walk in and stay a couple of hours, soaking it all in. The music, the lights, the service and the tastes of elegance. Yes, it's not an everyday restaurant; it's a special occasion, corporate, celebratory kind of place! Cheers - and if you are a martini drinker, make sure you order up their special "10 Minute Martini" - it's unforgettable.

Re: “World Refugee Day

World Refugee Day is a fun, exciting, and inspiring event highlighting the cultures of refugee populations living in the Treasure Valley. This will be my third year attending, and in my experience the event really has improved from year to year. If you are already an avid-market patron like myself, just swing on down to the grove to taste food, purchase goods, enjoy music and performers, and even have a chance to meet some refugees who are excited to share their cultural and gratitude with the community. If you are not a regular shopper at the Saturday market, what better time than World Refugee Day to bring family and friends to check out the market and step out of the box and learn about new cultures of people! Hope to see you there!!!

Re: “Liquid Laughs: Auggie Smith

Went to Auggie Smith's show last night with group of friends and we laughed until it hurt. Auggie is one smart comedian with impeccable timing and a totally hilarious stage personality. This is the best $10 you can spend for entertainment in Boise. Thanks to Liquid and Auggie for great Friday night.

Re: “Thoroughly Modern Millie

Amazing show! Strong voices, great acting, beautiful costumes and sets. Tess Gregg is charming as Millie Dillmount and well matched by a talented Alaggio Laurino as Jimmy Smith. Villain Sasha Allen-Grieve (Mrs. Meers) is fun to watch and Sam Hansen (Miss Flannery) shines. This production is a fun romp everyone will enjoy.

Re: “Skate Night

Beer, Music, Skateboarding. What more do you need? video games? they have those too! The ramp is a little small but it's still fun and a great place for the winter.

Re: “Boise's Best Bad Dancer 2

Need more reasons to check out Boise's Best Bad Dancer 2 next Friday night? How about the sweet prizes?

Our Champion, Runner-up, and Third-place winner, as well as the Audience Favorite, will be presented with a shiny, "guaranteed to get you laid" Dancing Turkey trophy!

But also:

1st Place: $100 CASH! Four tickets to the Winter or Spring performance(s) of your choice by Idaho Dance Theater, and four tickets to a Friday or Saturday night comedy show (excluding special engagements) at Liquid Laughs!

2nd Place: $50 CASH, two tickets to Idaho Dance Theater, and two tickets to Liquid Laughs!

3rd Place: $25 CASH, two tickets to Idaho Dance Theater, and two tickets to Liquid Laughs!

Audience Favorite: $50 Gift Card to Solid Grill and Bar, and the personal satisfaction of knowing the audience liked YOU best.

Sign-Ups begin at 6:30! The $5 cover is all you need to compete, but a total lack of shame and/or natural rhythm is helpful as well.

The Audience Favorite is exactly that -- everyone gets a vote -- so bring your friends, family, and co-workers! (They'll respect your bravery; you may even get promoted!)

Costumes are encouraged, but keep your damn clothes on! This isn't "Boise's Best Bad Stripper". (....THAT comes later.)
