Re: “Sakana Japanese Sushi Bar and Grill

Excellent fresh fish, menu choices, staff. Fantastic remodel allows for natural light, soft colors. My first choice when wanting good, authentic sushi!

Re: “Izumi Japanese Steak House and Lounge

This place rocks! We love great sushi and this place is a class act! Listen great sushi is hard to find even though the offering is plentiful. As far as the anti sake nazi or whatever, maybe you should let folks know your not interested. Personally I would appreciate the dramatics and show if I was paying for the Tepanyaki. Maybe close your mouth if the sake stream heads for you instead of disparaging a true gem!
Oh by the way my wife and I are actual chefs. Whom love this place. I'm currently running a 4.5 million dollar operation.
Give this place your business! They and you deserve it!

Pam have a drink, and go take your nap.

Re: “Yoi Tomo

I've had the AYCE lunch at Yoi Tomo's five or six times over the past five years, so my review is based on those experiences alone. Each of the sushi rolls that I've ordered have been delicious. The appetizers are pretty tasty as well; particularly the shrimp tempura.

Yes, there are more specialty rolls here than in some more traditional Japanese restaurants, but it was much better than IOU Sushi on Milwaukee street in Boise. If you're looking more for sashimi than the more westernized sushi rolls, you should probably look elsewhere. But if you like fried and other types of sushi rolls, Yoi Tomo's is the place to be.

Re: “Shige Japanese Cuisine

The first bite of sushi I ever ate was at Shige's. It was like eating gold. Shige personally sang happy birthday to me, and prepared every facet of my meal with precision and love. He is a great man, his food is great, and I will always support his restaurant.

Re: “Shige Japanese Cuisine

I would highly recommend visiting Shige! My husband and I go there weekly to enjoy their amazing sushi. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. We have been to other sushi places but none of them compare.

Re: “Sushi Ya

Easily the worst sushi place in Boise. Horrible staff that makes everyone feel unwelcome; two of us came down with food poisoning on the follow-up visit. Honestly, eat here at your own risk. You'll get better sushi at just about every other place in town. Including Fred Meyer's.

Re: “Sushi Joy

went there for my birthday, we had what they call the boat, it has everything you would want and more than you can eat! but we made pigs of ourselves and finished everything. it was the BEST food we have eaten in Boise, hands down.
service was great as well as everything else. will be back very soon, !!

Re: “Sushi Joy

This is by far the most hidden gem in Boise! Quality of food and service goes a long way when it comes to Asian cuisine. Sushi Joy nails it dead on, every time. I've been all around the United States and have had some of the best Sushi America has had to offer. By far Sushi Joy could very well be one of the best Japanese and Chinese food in the Northwest! I wouldn't be able to bring myself to go anywhere else!

Re: “Yoi Tomo

I don't understand the awful reviews! Yeah, there are a lot of rolls with cream cheese and fried things, but I guess I don't see why that should get them a one star rating. The menu has plenty of other things. My only complaint is we didn't get the happy hour special we should have gotten.

We went here for the first time the other night and thought the rolls were pretty great. They were on the pricey side, but they were HUGE so we left full. We had the mountain, french kiss, and whatever the super hot one was called and loved them. Our server was very friendly, and another server who was on her break and sitting next to us gave us tons of recommendations. We will definitely be back.

Re: “Ichiban Japanese Steakhouse

The worst ever! Stunk like bad fish and had worse karaoke. They did try to be very accommodating but glad it is closed.

Re: “Shige Japanese Cuisine

Highly recommend as one of the best sushi place in Boise. Good service and the sushi rolls are exceptional. The sashimi and nigiri are not as fresh as those from Japan but it's as good as anywhere in the U.S. I will be coming back for more when I visit Boise.

Re: “Shige Japanese Cuisine

Worst dining experience in boise. Staff treats customers like dirt and serves food that tastes like it was scraped out of a dumpster. Customers are left to hunt down their own eating supplies.

The $13 "lobster" aka imitation crab was rancid. The crab roll was well, a crab shell rolled in mushy white goo.

I would highly recommend eating from the dumpster behind super sushi for superior quality food. For a real treat actually try the rolls made at superb sushi.

Slow service, rude staff, horrible food, horrendous music.

Re: “Sushi Ya

Well let’s see…walk in the door, right away the waiter says “No more all you can eat, we are closing early.” It is 9:15 PM on a Saturday, they claim to be open until 10. Ok fine, my party agreed to just order off the menu. So on top of not feeling welcomed at all, he told us we can only order once. Fine. Waters not refilled and the waiter actually comes back and says we are eating too slow. Awesome. Food’s great but service is a joke. We leave a $.01 tip and when we leave, the waiter runs to an ear shoot of my party and says, “Bitch.”

Just had lunch there. Service was very good and friendly. Sushi was as good as any I've had in Boise. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.

The skinny tan lady with long hair was VERY RUDE to us. I thought the last time we went in was just an off night, nope. Just UGLY.
