Re: “Moon Shine Barn

Went to a party there at night--never again! No handicap parking and no bathroom in barn, had to go outside to porta potty and no lights in parking lot where the porta potty is. Not ADA equipped at all!

Re: “PowerHouse Event Center

YOU DO NOT want to have your event at this place. They will turn your supposed to be positive experience into a horrible one. Stay away! They want all the money and will charge you extra for anything they can but do not pay their vendors or contractors. The kitchen is also nasty with fecal matter.

Re: “Discovery State Park

The grounds keeper is a creeper. He likes to ride his four wheeler and try to zig zag through your dogs. He yells at you if your dogs are not on a leash right outside the water. He is uber weird. Don't go there alone if you are a woman, he tries to intimidate you and it feels like he might be a bit off....

Re: “Wilder

NOT even 1 star rating but there is no lower to chose, this was originally billed as a Blue Grass Festival with some older but big Country stars, that was never set into motion, nor was any of the local talent.....nothing but a flea market at best.....
(would hope to see this site check further into the validity of events before posting no means the fault of Boise Weekly, but would not like to see things like this hurt the rep of the best site for "what to do" in the area!)

Re: “Optimist Park-Mountain Home

Site was advertised as location of specific park yet I cannot find it in this site.
Please fix and put Optimist park on your site I came to play disc golf and cannot find it here in mountain home. I'll just head back home.
It could have been fun.

Re: “Expo Idaho (Fairgrounds)

Wow, I called the fairgrounds & talk about rude. Maria treated my call like there was a fire. She kept saying $8 & I had not asked my ? yet, my ? had nothing to do with cost, I had a ? about where the disability entrance was. I would like to know why someone in a wheelchair is having to pay full price. If I could do what others can then I should pay the same, but I can't get out of my wheelchair. I usually cannot get into a lot of the animal area's and even some exhibits. And our caregiver's get a really raw deal. This need's to be changed. Senior Citizens pay less and yet there are a lot of them that get around without ANY issues.

Re: “Discovery State Park

I found this park online and decided to book it for a baby shower. The website says the park fee is 50 bucks so it was comparable to booking a park through Boise parks and rec... or so I thought. The week before the party (after sending out the invites with the location) I drove up to look at the space and the attendant at the gate informed me that all of my guests will have to pay a 5 dollar parking fee when they come. I know it doesn’t seem like much but when you're talking about 30 guests and probably that many cars, that's 150 bucks! I hadn't informed my guests in the invite to bring money to park so now we're doing a parking tally and I'm going to foot the bill. Had I known this when booking the site I would have just booked it somewhere else and saved myself some serious cash. I talked to the "manager" he was pretty unapologetic about the whole thing even though he's the one I booked it with over the phone and he didn't inform me of the parking fee on top of the rental fee at the time of the booking. They didn't offer a discount or anything. Horrible customer service, horrible website and overall horrible experience. Thanks for making the baby shower so special Idaho Parks and Rec.

Re: “Surprise Valley Clubhouse

Noise ordinance and sound restrictions make this location poor for having any event beyond 9pm.

Re: “World Center for Birds of Prey

Yes, it is a nice facility. Yes, they charge way too much for school field trips.

I think it might be time to examine the salaries of this "non-profit" group.

It smells like a few upper ups getting a bunch of $$$$$$.

Re: “Eagle River Pavilion

I have never seen a more poorly designed venue than the Eagle River Pavillion. Instead of having the sun set behind the stage like most outdoor arenas, the sun stays to the side and beats down on the patrons and the band the entire time. At the last concert I attended, even the lead singer of the band complained. There is no ambience of the river, only the accompanying mosquitoes. It is basically a flat piece of dirt with chairs placed on it, too close together.
