Re: “Alia's Coffeehouse

A very nice place to go to talk or read or just think, and the coffee is good as well. The people are nice as well as the service.

Re: “Idaho Athletic Club

The Black Eagle front desk people were usually good. But many of the male management staff and trainers would "mean mug" you like they were big time or something. Most of them would walk around the club strutting their stuff and I felt like they would rather get in a fight with me rather than help me as customer. Especially the guy "Matt". What does he do there? All I ever saw him do was lean on counters and joke around with the other workers. The only male management person or trainer who would walk by and smile was Phil.

Re: “Idaho Athletic Club

Nice facilities in Caldwell - mainly used the racquetball courts - and nice local staff. Really bad service from the corporate office though when trying to cancel a month-to-month contract. Lots of paperwork needed - and ended up paying $160+ in unnecessary fees - and still got a threatening letter. Staff there were entirely unprofessional. Also, they couldn't even pull off cancelling a contract over the phone or by email - seriously, this is the 21st century IAC. It is high time to change your ways. Nampa Rec Center, Anytime Fitness, YMCA - or ANY PLACE but IAC, here I come - and I recommend that you avoid IAC at all costs until they have better corporate management.

Re: “Dawson's Downtown Coffee House

Use to be great. Emphesis on use to be. I've been coming to Dawsons for the last three years, loved the staff, loved the coffee... But then, I came in for a mocha and the stuck up little yuppie boy behind the counter, decided I wasn't classy enough and actually had the audacity to yell out "I think we need a refund." refused me service and told me not to come back. Snobs should be fired, they ruin the atmosphere. This is a coffee house, not a bar...

Re: “Grove Fitness Club and Spa

Gyms are, as near as I can tell, as close to scams as you can legally run. Case in point: In early January, I paid Grove Fitness for a new membership, paying for first and last months then. At the end of January, an auto-payment for another month came out. Today (Feb 12th) I cancelled, and my membership is officially out at the end of their billing cycle on the 15th. I paid for a total of 3 months, and received one. It's all part of the contract, so woe to me and others who don't just stay members for life, but it's also clearly designed to profit from those -- like me -- who make a resolution and then give it up. Like I said -- not necessarily illegal, but not very awesome, either.

Re: “Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore-Overland

I buy there all the time. If you want something you need to pay or put a deposit on it. They move lot of materials. When you leave, there is no SOLD sign on what you want. There is no guarantee it will be there when you return. As they say "MONEY TALKS"

Re: “Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore-Overland

I go to habitat restore locations all over the country as I travel for businmess. This review is troubling to me as I have never encountered this type of reponse. What Paula did not say was did she put down some money on the couch. I doubt it. I also voulunteer for a Habitat and help build houses when I am home. Do you know how many times I have heard people say I will be back and then become no shows. If you are not willing to put something down then don't expect any business to hold a product when someone who really wants the products and is willing to pay for it comes by.

Re: “Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore-Overland

HORRIBLE customer service!

Yesterday, I said to put my name & phone number on, and talked to the manager and another worker, about a piece of furniture that I really wanted, and they sold it to someone else!!!!! They had my name and phone number!

Unbelievable...what a HUGE disappointment! Management was totally indifferent, did not take any responsibility for this, and just said "sorry!" happened! Oh and I wish you had called ten minutes ago I just sold it!!! I was picking my items up today!

Seriously, this type of behavior would get someone fired at a job! You just don't sell a piece of furniture or anything picked out by a person to someone else! The manager, and I can't remember his name either, but will get it too, plus other serviceman are totally inept employees...they are a disgrace to this wonderful company.

Re: “Grace Place

Hello, Dosha,
You have been to sweats at my house and may remember me. A friend recommended that I get in touch with you.
Puppets have invaded my life and I need an outlet for them because they are pushing too hard. Could we talk sometime?

Re: “Portsche's Jewelry Boutique

Most of Portsche's jewelry is brand new, one-of-a-kind or custom designed. I think they have a few vintage pieces, but their focus is definitely new and unique pieces for the last six months or better.

Re: “The Bird Stop Coffee House

We are in Caldwell and it's so refreshing to have a place to sit down and have a nice cup of coffee. They have sandwiches, muffins, Dawson Taylor coffee and, during the evening, they serve wine and beer. We have been once to see the live music and my girls loved it; we're going tonight to enjoy some music out on the patio. I'm going to have an iced coffee and my husband is looking forward to one of the microbrews on tap. Thanks so much, Bird Stop, Caldwell desperately needed this!
