Re: “10th Street Station

To whom it may concern,

I was at Tenth Street station on Tuesday night to watch the debate and the bartender humiliated me in front of the entire bar. Let me explain; I am transgendered, I have been on hormones for over three years and live as a woman but have yet, for personal and legal reasons, to change my name. I am in the process of doing so right now but I have complications. I do however go by Raven Scott, even though the name on my credit card and driver’s license says S**** ****. When I came in the bartender looked at my id and took my credit card. Throughout the night he refilled my beverage several times and added them onto my tab, clearly he knew who he was serving. At the end of the night, in a loud display he held my credit card just out of reach and said something to the effect of, “So your name is S**** *****, right, it’s S****.” Essentially he was calling me out. He was loud, made a big display and taunted me until finally I held my id and he gave me back my card.

THIS IS ABOUT THE MOST HUMILIATING THING ANYONE CAN DO TO SOMEONE WHO IS TRANSGENDERED!

I would also like to add that he was clearly drunk.

I went home and cried myself to sleep that night, woke up in the middle of the night, cried myself to sleep again, and when I got to work, I’m a respected professional by the way, cried as I recounted what happened to my co workers who could clearly see that I was distressed.

He was a drunken bully. I did not think that Tenth St. Station was that kind of establishment.

Sincerely,
Raven Scott

Re: “Tom Grainey's

It's embarrassing to say that my favorite bar in Boise has such a poor group of bouncers that run it. There are numerous reasons that Grainey's needs a new set of bouncers. One for instance is the bouncers seem to think its okay to say "I'm too HIGH to check IDs just go in." Great way to let underage drinkers in! Another reason would be on Saturday night I saw an appalling issue happen, and no thanks to the bouncers. I saw a girl right in front of the doors (directly behind the bouncers) get sexually harassed and assaulted numerous times by a guy. She kept asking him to stop, and then screamed if you don't stop touching me I'm going to punch you. He then grabbed her vagina and breasts again. She then proceeded to punch him in the face. The long haired hippie bouncer who openly admits to being "too high" then threw her out of the bar. For some bizarre reason beyond my comprehension that disgusting pig of a guy didn't get thrown out(probably because that appalling guy was one of the bouncers friends). Bouncers...next time you might want to be more aware of the full situation. Also if I saw a girl punch a guy in the face, I would say its more than likely that the guy was doing something entirely wrong. Bravo bouncers---keep up the great work! Next time I see something like this happen, or the cops will be at your bar conducting investigations. Which I am sure is appealing to most "bar-goers".

Re: “Goodwood Barbecue Company

Took my mother to dinner for her birthday. The eagle road location always has incredible food and atmosphere. We were seated as soon as we walked in. (5 adults in our party) and have never had to wait more than 3 min for a table. The prices cannot be beat. 5.50 for a top shelf whiskey is not a bad price at all. most dinner items were 11.00. (burgers and pulled pork) The chicken fried steak is HUGE and the best I've tasted in Idaho. I have been to the two treasure valley locations many times and they never disappoint. Thank you for a great place to go and eat.

Re: “Varsity Pub

ive been in several times the last couple weekend. i had better than great service from a girl named Gina. she was always extra good to us. i was told this week end she is no longer w the company. i do t know what happened but she gave the best service we EVER HAD. If you knew what was good for your business get her back. every one makes mistakes and she definatly deserves a second chance. we spend alot of money there. She is worth it!

Re: “The Construction Zone

Been here before and after Bill and Lynn. It has a comfortable, welcoming air. I love the new menu! We enjoy a prime rib sandwich and an ice cold beer every now and then.

Re: “Jakers Bar and Grill

Just moved to the area and Jaker's is at the top of our list for eating out. We have been there three times since July 4th and every visit was outstanding......excellent food and excellent service.

Re: “Revolution Concert House and Event Center

The Revolution Concert Venue with Joe Walsh sucked big time. My wife and I have waited many years to see Joe Walsh, what a disappointment.

What went wrong?
• First, there was no parking at all if you got there at 7pm or after.
• Had to stand in line for almost an hour.
• The show started 30 minutes late.
• Cement floors, really hard on the feet and legs.
• No seating. Your expected to stand the whole time. When I was younger that would not have been a problem.
• The sound system was really poor.
• You could not hear Joe Walsh clearly.
• If you were under 5' 5" you could not see what was going on the stage.
• The Revolution has two large screens on either side of the stage but were not used to show what was going on stage.

Would I go to another concert at "The Revolution"? No!
The bands they are brining in are from my generation and some of us are not able to stand for over three hours. We left after an hour and a half after the show started, along with many others.

Re: “Cowgirls

Will never go there again. Ghetto pretentious was my first thought. Rude and arrogant staff, especially the owner. She is just nasty. One of the servers who was obviously intoxicated told me to only buy the cheap rail liquor because they actually pour the cheap stuff into the top shelf bottles anyway. Call me crazy but I think that may be illegal. They also need to hire an outside security firm; to watch their current security, who seem to find joy in starting fights and letting their friends act like animals. I give one star for having the front door unlocked. Will give five stars when they lock permenantly and a proper establishment takes its place.

Re: “Spearmint Rhino

The only Gentlemans club in Boise. I went around 4 pm and there was only one rand down looking dancer. I left came back around 9pm and was very surprised with the girls. They were all very nice girls. Some are very sad and run down looking. but the hot ones make up for the Ugly. If you want an ice cold beer or cheap drinks and a nice hot lady to talk to, this is the club. No nudity either but conversations make up for it.
