Re: “Bittercreek Alehouse

I have eaten here probably 6 times over as many years. In every circumstance, I've had good food and tepid/disinterested service. With 10 Barrel and other options available now, I doubt I'll return.

Re: “Franco's Pizzeria

The food is okay, if you like food without any flavor... But, the employees do not wash their hands, even when handling food after handling money. I have also seen them eating over the food prep area, and of course, not washing their hands after eating and before handling food... The few times I've been inside, there's always a bunch of flies all over the place, crawling on the food (especially the pizza that's out for individual slices, and not kept warm). Pretty disgusting if you ask me... I hope they get a surprise health inspection soon...

Re: “Fusion Asian Grill

Went away hungry! Grabbed dessert somewhere else because we weren't even close to being full! Seriously - rice is cheap! Give a little more of it please!

Re: “Hannifin's Cigar Shop

been there once, clerk at the register reading a book, never even looked up. Walked in, walked around, and left with never a word. Won't go back, I am new to cigars and need some advice, will go somewhere where they understand service.

Re: “Parrilla Grill

Some of the food items are pretty good, but not worth the unfriendly service. I have been there a couple times, and have been treated like an "outsider" every time. Had the same experience as some of the other reviewers when I ordered food - seemed to annoy the girl working there. The bartender didn't seem to want to be friendly, serve us beverages, or be polite in general. I live very close and will not be going back unless something really changes with the attitudes. Decent food does not overcome terrible service.

Re: “Tiny's Lounge

Nice local hangout but be prepared to smoke a cigarette because the smoke is thick enough that you will feel and smell like you did when you get home

Re: “Stan's Char-Broiled Hot Dogs

you can get a hot dog just as good at the 7-11. Overpriced. The best hot dog in town is the hot dog guy in front of the Home Depot on Milwaukee.

Re: “Pat's Thai Kitchen

We've eaten at Mai Thai and loved it, but we wanted to try Pat's as we had heard good things about it. The food was good, but not as good as Mai Thai. It would have been good enough for us to go back, but for the fact that the dish I ordered for my kids was too spicy and the owners would not take it back, much less come out and talk to us about it. We ordered a noddle and vegetable plate for them and the waiter asked us if they liked it spicy, and I said only a little (they eat the spicy salsa at Mexican restaurants). As soon as they tasted it they complained. So, I tasted it. It was almost as spicy as my medium spicy. I asked the waiter to take back the plate and he said the owners would not, but I asked him to ask them. He did and he said that they were really busy and they would not take the plate back. After explaining that I thought there was a miscommuncation between him and me and that they should take the plate back, he asked again and told us no again. I told him I was disappointed. Because the food was not good, but not great, and we had to go home feed our kids and they went to bed very cranky and late, I would not go back to this place again. Mai Thai is way better and the price is comparable.

Re: “Panda Garden

I had high hopes for this restaurant after reading the reviews but was very disappointed. The generals chicken was fatty and greasy and seemed like it was breaded instead of having the crunch that generals chicken should have from dusting it with corn starch and frying it in a very hot wok. Also the Lady Tso Shrimp was so saucy it was like soup. The crab ragoons and wantons were average and the lo mein was very bland. We will not be returning.

Re: “Goodwood Barbecue Company-Meridian

New to Meridian - I had folks recommending Goodwood BBQ but I have to be honest and say that I was not impressed by the food here at the Meridian restaurant. Not a big fan of overly peppered BBQ. The biggest disappointment was the ribs. In general, this is what I expect .... good sized portions, good caramelized outer meat but not burned, slow cooked so that the meat is not tough and grisly and plenty of BBQ sauce. This was far from the case when I tried this place. The ribs were coated in pepper, there was little to no caramelized meat, and they were mushy like they had been sitting in a vat for who knows how many hours before I got them. Needless to say, I don't plan on making this place one of my regular eating places.

I heard the one by the Edwards theater is the one to go to if you want good BBQ. Haven't been there yet, but from eating at the Meridian restaurant, I am sort of skeptical. A friend of mine said that if I got a crappy meal from the main store, I should ask for the manager ... he is the guy that owns the chain.

Re: “Wild Bill's Barbeque

The food was overpriced for the quality. They were out of or did not make many of the side items on their menu, so we were only able to choose from a salad, fries, or onion rings. Their reasoning for this was that they did not want prepare food that would go to waste. They claimed that the other side items were not popular and they did not receive requests for them. I would not return there based on my dinning experience.

Re: “Cracker Barrel

My wife and her children enjoy Cracker Barrel very much. I find it the epitome of bland, bland, bland. The breakfast sausage has almost no flavor, the gravy on biscuits is just over thick paste with no sausage or real flavor. I guess there is a lot of volume for the money charged, just no soul.

Re: “Gelato Cafe

This WAS a fine place for a quick lunch when Superb Sushi had a small counter inside. I made the mistake of ordering sushi there recently, not realizing it was no longer Superb! And it sure wasn't superb--just like supermarket sushi, and none of that yummy side salad.

Their coffee drinks are just so-so, but they do have a nice selection on gelato.

I'd give it a "miss"!

Re: “Burger 'N Brew

Any place with the word "Burger" in its name that doesn't even makes their own burgers fresh, but uses frozen machine pressed patties should be ashamed.

Shame, shame, shame on you...

Re: “Barb's Barr

Its a bar just like the name says. No frills, lots of smoke, over 40 crowd. But if you want to go home with a guy that looks like Popeye, who am I to judge?

Re: “Dirty Shame Saloon

The atmosphere is ok if you know the locals. Watch out for the bartenders as they can have an attitude and be unforgiving.

Re: “Taj Mahal Restaurant

We arrived at 730 and waited in line behind two other couples. We were seated within 15 minutes at a table for 6. They thought about moving us to another table with another couple before moving us to our own table. We ordered an appetizer 30 min later when our order was taken. Around 850 I told my wife we should just leave, our movie started at 9 and I already bought tickets ($25). Respectfully we stayed the duration. Food finally arrived at 930. I agree with the 'one cook' idea, DON'T BE IN A HURRY. IN FACT, DON'T MAKE ANY PLANS TOMORROW. We finally left at 1030 with full bellies, empty wallets, and some left overs. Total bill was ( for two w/o drinks.) $55 for food, $25 for movie I didn't get to see, $5 parking for three hours. =$85 for dinner.

Re: “Busters Bar and Grill

My take on this joint is they tried to be the Hooters of Boise before there was a Hooters in boise. I'm always weary of a place that has their servers dress in as little as possible. Just seems like they want all the focus to be on them so you don't notice the food. Drinks are made fairly well. Overall I'd say the place needs a good make-over. At the very least-a good deep cleaning.
