Re: “Lock Stock & Barrel

I thought they had closed up. Several external lights are either off or have burned out bulbs. Can't see through windows - appears all lights are off. Looking in the front door, all you see is an empty podium. I just kept on driving by, went somewhere else that doesn't look so scary.

Re: “Richard's

We have been customers for a long time but were very disappointed on 6/5/2015 when our REQUESTED AND CONFIRMED table request was changed when we walked in the door on 6/5 at 6PM. I guess someone else $$$$$ were greener than mine. This action made us feel like second class citizens.
We had a couple of "other" issues that evening too but the table change really did offend us both and on my wife special day too!

Re: “Bosnia Express

Tried Bo-Ex today and purchased the gyro I have heard so much about. I was a little disappointed. The meat had a strange texture like it was a ground and processed patty rather than a traditional stack of thin sliced meat on a vertical spit roaster. The owners make you feel at home and the portion was great but I'm not sure it was worth the $7.95

Re: “Rockies Diner

I have been to rockies a few times over many years, and I don't go there everyday. They definately seem to have their good days and their bad. It's kinda odd.

Re: “North End Chinese

It's ok. The prices are good and the food is good, nothing great but good. They are closed on Saturdays, so there's that, but otherwise it's a quick stop for a good meal at a good price.

Re: “Fresh Betty Spaghetti

This is a pretty good product but not outstanding. The noodles are incredibly fat and most people I know prefer a thinner noodle. Just make a few adjustments and you will hit it out of the park.

Re: “Fork

Food was reasonably priced, atmosphere was great.

Not everything I have had there is the greatest, but I have had great food there. I think the best is the Urban Burger... perhaps the best burger in town.

Re: “Bad Boy Burgers

Probably my favorite greasy spoon burger joint - anywhere. Diverse menu, but I've only had the burgers. Mon-Fri there is a daily special with Tues. being my favorite, cheese burger with fries (huge) and a pop for $3.95. Good fry sauce too.

The seating is outdoor, so the winter you'll have to eat in your car or live/stay close by. There are other interesting looking restaurants near by, but I can never bring myself to get that close to Bad Boy Burger and eat somewhere else.

Re: “Garlic Charley's

Ok food. Small menu. Not worth dine in since service was crappy. May have been a bad day for the team. I will try again a few months later.

Re: “Murphy's Seafood Bar and Grill

Father's Day brunch was $25 and was worth less than half that. The gravy was pure Sysco, the scrambled eggs were a solid dry mass, the bacon thin-cut and cheap tasting, the chicken fried steak tough. The fresh seafood and the lox were both quite good, as were the eggs Benedict and the flat-bread pizza. I didn’t try the hand-cut meat. They also weren’t serving mimosas as part of the brunch price, however, nor the champagne (which their web site claims is part of the brunch but was apparently removed special for Father’s Day). The wait staff was reasonably helpful and prompt, but the place was less than half full at 12:30 pm, so this wasn't surprising. By the time we were done almost all of the deserts were gone (there were maybe 10 items left, most the same, and all of the hot desert pans were completely empty, it looked pretty sad). All-in-all for the price I was severely disappointed.

Re: “Goldy's Corner

Service usually good, but can be 'hit or miss'. Once waited 25 mins. for my breakfast after my order got lost in 'order hell'. Brought that up and no one had any explanation nor did they seem to care. Bottom line: Good fresh ingredients in their breakfasts at fair prices. Omelets will satisfy you for sure. Pancakes & waffles, I'm sure are excellent as well. HINT: Go when they're NOT as busy (i.e. after the pre-work A.M. weekday, or A.M. weekend crowds).

Re: “Java-Downtown

This is actually a review of Java as a whole, as they also have a 'sweet' location in Hyde Park in the North End of Boise as well, which is nicer in my opinion, even though the 6th St. building is also very good (as far as a physical site). The coffee IS good, but still nobody can top the 'FlyingM' in this category and their 'unbeatable' baked goods. Also, one may want to give 'Java' a try if/when visiting Ketchum. I have found that the coffeeshop there does a MUCH better job in all facets of the game, including consistency of good tasting coffee, baked goods, other food, and ESPECIALLY service!!! My one beef with Hyde Park's location is the 'doorknob,' young, think their hip employees.

Re: “Mai Thai

I'm pretty sure the last 12 reviews are written by the same person! It's strange that they all were written in a span of 2 weeks, are all 5 stars, all reviewers only have 1 review, and they have a distinctly foreign flavor to them! I wonder who could have wrote them all?! Though it might be justified after being given a 1 star review by Gigimarie, whos only other review is a 5 star review for Mai Thais next door neighbor Pho written on the same day! The truth about this place is it's overpriced, decent tasting, and somewhat hip(like everything downtown.)

Re: “Bertram's Salmon Valley Brewery

Nice place for casual dining in Salmon Idaho. Delicious food, generous portions, friendly staff, and excellent handcrafted beers makes this brewpub one of our favorite stops on Hwy 93.

Re: “Redheaded Finn

Good beer selection and nice environment, service is very good. The food isn't exceptional, but it isn't bad. If this were located in any other area it would be somewhere I'd consider going to as a place to sit around with friends to sit around and watch football while having a few drinks on a regular basis, as it is there are so many other places very close that have exquisite seasonal menus and extensive drink offerings so it's hard to justify picking the Falcon unfortunately.

Re: “Reef

The location and rooftop venue's simply awesome paired with Boise warm, late nights, and the food can be quite good, though as Aaron mentions some things I've tried verge on microwaved. But the Duke's a solid burger and I hear good things about the rum-soaked turkey sandwich. If you like spicy, try the voodoo fries or the jalapeno margarita!

Re: “Boise Fry Company-Downtown

The burgers (esp. bison) are good-quality & tasty, but the fries are petite and a bit bland & floppy, and the location is awkward. I do recommend giving the $16 experience (bison burger + Bourgeois fries) a shot once, but at the reasonably priced lunch level you get more variety on the burger side at Big Jud's than from fries and flavored mayos at Boise Fry Co, and the location inconveniences are about the same. So if Big Juds is 4, this is a 3.
